SYNETIQ, an IAA Company, is proud to announce its recent commitment to the Disability Confident scheme, achieving Level 1: Disability Confident Committed certification. As a company dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and accessible workplace, this milestone underscores SYNETIQ’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities, both in recruitment and within our existing team.
The Disability Confident scheme, led by the UK Government, is designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions. By becoming Disability Confident Committed, SYNETIQ joins thousands of businesses actively working to remove barriers in employment and improve workplace accessibility.
SYNETIQ’s commitments as a disability confident employer
Through this certification, SYNETIQ has pledged to focus on five key areas that drive accessibility and inclusivity for disabled employees:
- Inclusive recruitment: We are committed to ensuring that our recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible to all. This includes removing unnecessary barriers and making our job application process as straightforward as possible.
- Promoting vacancies widely: We are dedicated to communicating and promoting our vacancies through channels that make them accessible to a diverse audience, encouraging applications from people of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Guaranteeing interviews: We offer an interview to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role. By providing this opportunity, we aim to ensure that talented individuals are not overlooked due to accessibility challenges.
- Supporting colleagues with disabilities: We proactively anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments to support employees who acquire a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to thrive in their roles and stay in the workforce.
- Taking meaningful action: Committing to at least one additional activity with the aim of making a positive difference for disabled individuals, in line with our commitment to promoting a supportive and inclusive culture.
Natalie Buckley, People Director at SYNETIQ said: “At SYNETIQ, we are deeply committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. Joining the Disability Confident scheme is a key part of this commitment, as it allows us to take meaningful steps toward improving accessibility and providing better opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We believe that fostering diversity not only strengthens our team but also enriches our company culture and the service we provide to our clients.”
Looking Ahead
Becoming Disability Confident Committed is only the beginning for SYNETIQ. We recognise that creating a fully inclusive environment is an ongoing journey, and we are excited to continue building on this foundation. By actively promoting accessibility, encouraging applications from disabled candidates, and supporting our existing team members with disabilities, we aim to be a leader in disability inclusion within our industry.
This milestone reinforces SYNETIQ’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. By embracing and celebrating our differences, we believe we can foster a stronger, more innovative workplace that benefits everyone.
