North Doncaster Development Trust, a local charity helping people in need in the local community, has taken delivery of a new vehicle donated by SYNETIQ.

SYNETIQ, the UK’s leading integrated vehicle salvage, dismantling and recycling business, donated the vehicle to North Doncaster Development Trust, an organisation that has been at the forefront of the response to the pandemic and continues to support people in need.

North Doncaster Development Trust Community Coordinator Tracy Mann said: “We are very grateful for the new vehicle. It gives us a fantastic opportunity to broaden our work and services and it will go a long way towards helping those who need our support the most, particularly at such a challenging time of year.”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, North Doncaster Development Trust has provided foodbank services and transport to and from vaccination centres for vulnerable members of the community.

The charity, run by volunteers, will now be able to collect and deliver larger donations, providing a greater impact on food security in the community.

SYNETIQ has supported numerous community-based organisations, grassroots sports clubs and automotive education providers throughout 2021, as well as organizing frequent fundraising activities for its chosen charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Shortlisted as a finalist in the “Excellence through Corporate Social Responsibility” category at the Doncaster Business Awards 2021, corporate social responsibility remains a central part of SYNETIQ’s operations.

Colleagues have baked, waxed, completed the infamous Tough Mudder, squatted and cycled their way through 2021, raising over £6,000 for charities including Children in Need and Shelter throughout the year.

The business promises a pound for pound fundraising scheme, matching individual colleagues’ fundraising efforts up to the value of £500, and offers one day of paid leave for colleagues to spend volunteering.

Through its Colleague & Community Forum, colleagues raise and vote on fundraising and community support initiatives. Organisations and causes which are close to colleagues’ hearts or are near SYNETIQ sites are prioritized.

That’s a huge part of why we established our forum.
