SYNETIQ is celebrating the impact of its carbon literacy training initiative, as the business celebrates one year since it was established.
Developed alongside the Carbon Literacy Project, the training has led to over 200 SYNETIQ colleagues achieving carbon literacy certification, and has also been offered to clients, the wider industry and the SYNETIQ BMW Motorrad British Superbike team.
SYNETIQ was recently awarded with silver carbon literacy accreditation, also working alongside other market leading businesses within the automotive sector to develop the industry’s first ever carbon literacy toolkit.
Since completing the training, many SYNETIQ clients have successfully reached accreditation and pledged to take individual and group actions to tackle climate change, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the industry in the drive towards sustainability.
The business has been working with the Carbon Literacy Project since November 2020 as part of the ‘Our Road to Tomorrow’ sustainability roadmap, which SYNETIQ hopes will drive a more sustainable future for motoring.
Dan Lloyd, Claims Supply Specialist at NFU Mutual, said: “It’s been great to be involved with the Carbon Literacy work SYNETIQ has been undertaking. Tackling climate change is a shared global responsibility and we all have a part to play.”
“At NFU Mutual, we work closely with our suppliers to ensure they share our values. When SYNETIQ’s CEO Tom Rumboll gave a passionate talk at the Complete Auto Recycling Show about ESG and climate change, I was very keen to see how I could help on both a personal and professional level.”
“After I completed an analysis of my own carbon footprint and pledged to change some aspects in my control to reduce my carbon emissions, I was eager to be a part of the carbon literacy action day and involve other employees across NFU Mutual,” said Dan Lloyd. “The day itself was both eye opening and inspiring, and has enabled myself and my colleagues to become certified as carbon literate.”
Anna Reade, Client Relationship Manager at SYNETIQ, said: “I couldn’t have imagined what we’d manage to achieve with carbon literacy in just the first year. The impact of the training sessions we’ve offered have been felt by colleagues, clients, and people within our communities, and is already making a massive difference.”
“We’re delighted to see the NFU Mutual team have established their own internal carbon literacy training since completing our course, and we’re proud to have helped them begin their own carbon literacy journey.”
